Beating Auburn never gets old. Especially beating them as mercilessly as we beat them this past weekend. Like most Georgia fans, I was not well pleased with the offense in the first half, though I did appreciate Sarumonken going for the jugular three times in a row on the last drive of the half. If we'd been able to connect on those, that would've been a back breaker.
The Mailman to get his accuracy back, but if the running game continues the way it did this past Saturday we should be in good shape. Defensively, there is much to be pleased with. I'd like to see us get to the quarterback a few times in every game moving forward, but if we are forcing teams to throw the ball away every third play, that's a good start. Vandy is up next, and hopefully it's a blowout so we can get an early start on healing guys up during the bye week.
Auburn, I really do feel bad for y'all right now. I mean, I still enjoyed beating you and am enjoying the streak we are running against you, but you're suffering makes me sad. Perhaps the stormin' mormon has some magic up his sleeve and can turn things around for you, but I'm afraid that you're in for some dark times. Maybe try recruiting Utah.
CBS, damn you. I was looking forward to hearing all that Gary Danielson had to offer, and instead you sent us the backups. Listening to that PAC-12 washout offer analysis is, I imagine, a lot like listening to neocons offer intelligence briefings. A lot of useless information with limited insights and unhelpful suggestions. Perhaps he works for the CIA during the offseason. I did enjoy seeing that flashback of him getting picked by us, though.
We did finally have a full week of conference matchups and that was exciting. So let's look around the rest of the conference.
Alabama – Surely what happened at the Red River Shootout gave you something about Texas to be happy about.
Arkansas – You have failed Sam Pittman. You disgust me.
Mississippi State – How did you lose to LSU?
Ole Miss – No one likes a bully. And the last touchdown didn't make anyone forget you were losing at the half.
LSU – You let Tennessee do that to you in Death Valley. You deserve the feelings you're having right now.
Texas A&M – I figured you'd have worked harder on your two minute drill after App State.
Mizzou – It was more than I expected from you but less that I'd hoped for.
Tennessee – They lost to FSU. We will see what you're really made of Saturday.
UK – I feel bad for you. I know the pain of an inexplicable loss to South Carolina.
South Carolina – You've done right by Beamer. I want you to ruin Tennessee's season, too.
Florida – I really wanted you to lose, but given our score against Mizzou I guess I can't talk shit this week.
Vandy – Half of something is better than all of nothing.
I've only watched a bit of Vandy football this year, and it wasn't impressive. Hopefully a 3:30 start in Athens and our close calls against Kent State and Mizzou and our first half against Auburn is enough to keep us focused so we can work them over like we should. Not to mention it's the first time they've come to Athens in forever, so perhaps that will add some motivation. Regardless, may your soup be warm, your beer be cold, and your bar tab affordable.
